Coronavirus & Working From Home

Recently, the Government of India through Ministry of Home Affairs has come up with certain cyber security tips for people Working From Home in India. These tips have highlighted important topics that need to be considered by employees Working From Home in the Indian context.

Some of these tips are extremely relevant like using more and more computers, not mixing devices for work and leisure activities, disable remote access if not required, changing passwords and keeping strong passwords and using trusted apps.

Further, the said Advisory has asked employees to change the default passwords of Home WiFi and admin passwords as also strictly adhere to guidelines issued by employers.

Hence, cyber security tips issued by the Government of India in collaboration with Indian Cybercrime & Coordination Centre thus becomes all the more important, since India does not have enabling legal frameworks to deal with Work From Home paradigm.

Already Work From Home during Coronavirus times has brought forward numerous issues and considerations which must be kept in mind by the relevant stakeholders in the Work From Home paradigm.  These include considerations not just for cyber security but also for cybercrimes and also for Cyberlaw related issues.

In this regard, Cyberlaw University has come up with a unique course entitled “Coronavirus, Work From Home & Legal Issues”.

This course has identified some of the key parameters that stakeholders globally and in India particularly, need to keep in mind while Working From Home.  The said course also enables all stakeholders to have holistic perspective of the various cyber legal, policy and regulatory issues pertaining to Work From Home.

I believe that the said course would be of great value addition for all stakeholders not only in the Coronavirus times but also beyond thereafter.
